
Element Pictures Distribution was set up in August 2007 with a view to bringing the very best of ground-breaking cinema to Ireland.
The first title released by EPD was the award-winning Irish film GARAGE, winner of the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes 2007. This was followed by the critically acclaimed film KISSES, directed by Lance Daly which was released in cinemas across Ireland in November 2008 and is currently available to buy on DVD. Following KISSES, EPD released WAVERIDERS, it’s first theatrical documentary release in April 2009. WAVERIDERS achieved huge box-office success in both Ireland & the UK. The DVD was released in Ireland on the 7th of August ’09.
WAVERIDERS was followed by the release in July 2009 of WIDE OPEN SPACES, an Irish Comedy written by Arthur Matthews and Directed by Tom Hall. EPD's next release is the iconic documentary THE YELLOW BITTERN: The Life and Times of Liam Clancy, which goes on limited release on the 11th of September 2009. Directed by Alan Gilsenan, this acclaimed documentary premiered at the Dublin International Film Festival in February 2009.
Following THE YELLOW BITTERN, EPD will release ZONAD in the early part of 2010.
