Following raves, Barry Keoghan is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the Element Pictures’ produced THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER along with Colin Farrell who has been nominated for Lead Actor in Lanthimos’ Cannes winning triumph. Nicole Kidman also gets the nod in the International Actress category and the film is also nominated for Best Film. To date, Element Pictures has won 7 Best Film awards at the IFTAS.

Commenting on the nominations, Producer Ed Guiney said, “It’s brilliant to see so many nominations for Yorgos’ wonderful film and delighted that Barry and Colin are recognised for their work by the Irish Film Industry. Congratulations also to the other Element Pictures Distribution nominees. It has been a great year for Irish film and it’s certainly reflected in the wealth of talent we have seen nominated!”

Other IFTA nominations for Element Pictures Distribution include THE DRUMMER AND THE KEEPER, which was nominated for 4 awards – Supporting Actress for Niamh Algar, Supporting Actor for Jacob McCarthy, Best Script for Nick Kelly along with Best Original Score for John Gerard Walsh.  HALAL DADDY was awarded 2 nominations for Sarah Bolger in the Best Actress category and Deirdre O’Kane for Best Supporting Actress.

The 2018 IFTAs will be held on February 15th.
