ELEMENT PICTURES DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCE THAT BRENDAN MULDOWNEY’S IRISH ACTION-THRILLER PILGRIMAGE WILL BE RELEASED IN CINEMAS ON JULY 14TH

Element Pictures Distribution is delighted to announce that Brendan Muldowney’s PILGRIMAGE will be released in Irish cinemas on July 14th. The Irish action-thriller has wowed festival audiences, following its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017 and its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival on June 24th 2017.

PILGRIMAGE will have its Irish premiere at the 29th Galway Film Fleadh on July 13th  and Irish audiences will have the chance to catch it in cinemas the following day. PILGRIMAGE boasts a stellar cast, including Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal and Richard Armitage. Holland will next be seen as Peter Parker in Marvel’s SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. He also played Parker/Spider-Man in the hit Avengers movie CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR this past year. Bernthal will next be seen in the Netflix Original Series “Punisher” in which he reprises his role of Frank Castle from Marvel’s “Daredevil.”

The film was written by Jamie Hannigan and was produced by Conor Barry and John Keville of Dublin-based production outfit Savage Productions and Benoit Roland of Wrong Men. XYZ Films executive produced the film, with RLJ Entertainment taking domestic rights. The film was shot on location for over seven weeks on the West Coast of Ireland and the Ardennes Region of Belgium, and was developed with the assistance of the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/Irish Film Board and Creative Europe and was financed by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/Irish Film Board, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and Wallimage, Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and BNP Paribas Fortis Film Finance.

Speaking on the release, director Brendan Muldowney commented that “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Element Pictures Distribution releasing Pilgrimage in Ireland. I’m delighted that Irish audiences will have a chance to see it in cinemas in July after its Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh.”

PILGRIMAGE follows a small group of monks as they undertake a treacherous pilgrimage to escort their monastery’s holiest relic to Rome. But, as the true material, political and religious significance of the relic is revealed, the group’s journey becomes increasingly fraught with danger. Ultimately, the faith that binds the men together threatens to be the very same thing that will tear them apart

RYAN TUBRIDY TO HOST Q&A IN SAVOY FOR GALA SCREENING OF THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE

Element Pictures Distribution are delighted to announce that Ryan Tubridy will host the Q&A for the gala screening of The Siege of Jadotville.

The special gala screening of the film will take place in The Savoy Cinema on September 19th and will celebrate the film and honor the surviving Jadotville soldiers. Following the film, there will be a Q&A hosted by Ryan Tubridy. The panel will include Jamie Dornan, Richie Smyth and Alan Moloney and the Q&A will be live streamed to cinemas throughout Ireland.

Netflix and Element Pictures Distribution are partners on the UK & Ireland theatrical release for the Netflix Original Film, The Siege of Jadotville, produced by Irish production company Parallel Films. This partnership will make the film available in select cinemas across Ireland and the UK from September 19, and the film will launch on Netflix, everywhere the service is available, on October 7.

The Siege of Jadotville will be showing in the following cinemas from the 19th of September-  Light House Cinema, IMC Athlone, IMC Carlow, IMC Santry, IMC Dun Laoghaire, IMC Savoy , EYE Galway , GATE Cork, Movies @ Dundrum, Movies @ Swords, Movie House Dublin Road Belfast, Arc Drogheda, Movies @ Gorey, Century Letterkenny, Derry Brunswick, Eclipse Downpatrick, IMC Ballymena, IMC Enniskillen, IMC Banbridge and IMC Omagh.

Directed by Richie Smyth and written by Kevin Brodbin, The Siege of Jadotville is a gripping true story of incredible bravery against impossible odds, as it thrillingly depicts the 1961 siege of a 150-strong Irish UN battalion under Commander Patrick Quinlan (Jamie Dornan) by 3,000 Congolese troops led by French and Belgian mercenaries working for mining companies.  Featuring a stellar line-up of acting talent including Jamie Dornan, Mark Strong, Jason O’Mara, Guillaume Canet and Sam Keeley. The Siege of Jadotville is produced by Alan Moloney (Brooklyn, Albert Nobbs, Byzantium) for Parallel Films as well as Richie Smyth and Kevin Brodbin.

NETFLIX & ELEMENT PICTURES DISTRIBUTION PARTNER ON UK & IRELAND THEATRICAL RELEASE OF THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE

Film is Based on Actual Events and Stars Jamie Dornan, Mark Strong and Guillaume Canet in Gripping Depiction of Siege of Irish UN Battalion

Netflix and Element Pictures Distribution announced today that they will partner on the UK & Ireland theatrical release for the Netflix Original Film, The Siege of Jadotville produced by Irish production company Parallel Films. The partnership will make The Siege of Jadotville available in select cinemas across Ireland and the UK on September 19, and the film will launch on Netflix, everywhere the service is available, on October 7.
