From beyond the very limits of our imagination comes a stranger. Who is he? What is he? And why is he so thirsty for our black beer?

To celebrate the upcoming release of the film Zonad (written and directed by John Carney and Kieran Carney), Element Pictures Distribution invites budding film makers, animators, sci-fi enthusiasts and film buffs to enter a short film competition. The film can be anything up to 3 minutes in length and should tell the story of what happened when a roguish spaceman arrives in a little Irish village. What devilment will he get up to? Will the locals welcome him with open arms? We’ll leave that up to your vivid imagination!

The winning submission will be included as a special feature on the Zonad DVD and the winner will also receive a cash prize of €500. In addition, you and a friend will be invited to the Irish premiere of Zonad and the after-party! To top it all off, the winning short will be reviewed by a renowned film critic and will be uploaded onto the official website for all to see.
