
Five films and two TV dramas from the Element Pictures Distribution slate have received a total of twenty three nominations as part of the 7th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards. The nominations are chosen by IFTA Academy members and a Jury panel of experts from around the world. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday 20th February at the Burlington Hotel Dublin.
Zonad a mad-cap comedy by John Carney and Kieran Carney received a total of six film nominations including Best Film (Element Pictures), Best Director (John Carney and Kieran Carney), Best Script (John Carney and Kieran Carney), Best Actress in a Lead Role (Janice Byrne), Hair & Make-up (Eileen Buggy and Barbara Conway) and Original Score (Brian Byrne). Zonad will be released in cinemas nationwide from 19th March
Alan Gilsenan’s The Yellow Bittern – The Life & Times of Liam Clancy is nominated for Best Feature Documentary. His & Hers is also nominated for Best Feature Documentary (Andrew Freedman) and Editing (Ken Wardrop).
Wide Open Spaces received a nomination for Best Original Score by Neil Hannon while Alison Byrne has been nominated for Best Costume Design for her work on Cracks.
Pure Mule has received seven nominations for Television, including:
Best Drama Series/ Soap - David Collins and Peter Norris
Best Television Director - Declan Recks.
Best Script Television - Eugene O Brien.
Television Actress in a Lead Role - Charlene McKenna.
Television Actor in a Supporting Role - Diarmuid Noyes.
Television Actress in a Supporting Role -Dawn Bradfield.
Editing Isobel Stephenson.

Five Minutes of Heaven has received five nominations for Television, including

Sound – Ronan Hill, Jon Stevenson, John Fitzgerald.
