Element have a long track record in producing both award winning and commercially successful feature films for local and international audiences. Element are the also one of the few European production companies that develop, produce, distribute and exhibit their own projects in their home territory.
In early 2014, Element completed production on Glassland starring Jack Reynor & Toni Collette, for which Jack Reynor was awarded a Special Jury Prize at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and is director Gerard Barrett’s follow up to the critically acclaimed Pilgrim Hill.
The company also produced Yorgos Lanthimos’ first English language film, The Lobster starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz which will have its international debut playing in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2015.
Upcoming Element productions include Room, an onscreen adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s award-winning, best-selling novel directed by Lenny Abrahamson and starring Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay, Joan Allen and William H Macy, 11 Minutes, co-produced with Skopia Films, by renowned Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski and starring Richard Dormer and Darren Thornton’s debut A Date With Mad Mary starring Seana Kerslake.
Recent productions include Abrahamson’s last film Frank, starring Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Ken Loach’s Jimmy’s Hall, a co-production with Sixteen Films. Previous films include What Richard Did (Lenny Abrahamson), Shadow Dancer (James Marsh), The Guard (John Michael McDonagh), and The Wind That Shakes the Barley (Ken Loach).
