
Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe run film and television drama production company Element Pictures based in Dublin and London. Element also operate an Irish film distribution company, Element Pictures Distribution.
Recent film credits include FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN (Oliver Hirschbiegel) co-produced by Element which won the Best Director and Best Screenplay prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, GARAGE (Lenny Abrahamson) which premiered at Director’s Fortnight at Cannes 2007), THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY (which Element co-produced), ADAM AND PAUL (Lenny Abrahamson’s first film), the BAFTA winning OMAGH and THE MAGDALENE SISTERS. Ed Guiney also produced Gabriel Range’s DEATH OF A PRESIDENT.
Element are currently in production with the feature documentary LITTLE MATADOR. Projects in post production include ZONAD, directed by John Carney, the director of the film ONCE and CRACKS, the first film from Jordan Scott starring Eva Green.
Element has also produced some of the most impactful Irish television drama of recent years including PROSPERITY, LITTLE WHITE LIE and BITTERSWEET. Ed Guiney also produced the hit series PURE MULE and BACHELORS WALK though Accomplice Television.
Element also runs Ireland leading independent film distribution company and as well as handling all of Optimum's titles in Ireland has also had box office success with its own releases including GARAGE, the most successful Irish film at the box office in 2007 as well as KISSES and most recently WAVERIDERS, the highest grossing Irish theatrical documentary ever.
